Elizabeth Olsen is an American actress best known for her acclaimed portrayal of Wanda Maximoff / Scarlet Witch in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Her performances span several major entries in the franchise, including Avengers: Age of Ultron (2015), WandaVision (2021), and Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness (2022). Her work in WandaVision earned her nominations for both a Primetime Emmy Award and a Golden Globe Award.
Born in Sherman Oaks, California, Olsen began acting at the age of four, appearing alongside her older sisters, Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen. She made her film debut in the psychological thriller Martha Marcy May Marlene (2011), receiving widespread praise and a BAFTA Rising Star Award nomination. She later graduated from New York University in 2013.
Beyond her Marvel roles, Olsen has appeared in a range of film and television projects, including the blockbuster Godzilla (2014), the crime thriller Wind River (2017), and the indie dramedy Ingrid Goes West (2017). In 2024, she starred in His Three Daughters. On television, she led the drama series Sorry for Your Loss (2018–2019) and portrayed Candy Montgomery in the true-crime miniseries Love & Death (2023), a performance that earned her another Golden Globe nomination.
